CM hints at enforcement of VAT
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has said that the government would welcome the constructive criticism of the opposition. He was talking to the reporters in the state assembly.
Chauhan also indicated that VAT system could be enforced in the state. He said that we have submitted our objections to the Centre regarding the VAT and if the objections were accepted then the VAT could be enforced in the state.
He said that the state government would take firm measures to check the atrocities on weaker sections and the directives in this regard had already been issued to the concerned officials. He said that our priority is to bridge the gulf between the people and the government.
The Chief Minister suggested to the opposition to refrain from criticising the government for the sake of criticism. He said that if the opposition does not want to impede the pace of development then it should make only constructive and useful criticism.
