10-day VAT bandh from April 20
HYDERABAD: Stock up on essential commodities for wholesalers are going on a 10-day nation-wide bandh in protest against the value-added tax (VAT) from April 20. There will be no supplies to retailers, who will themselves join the bandh on April 29.
To make things worse, petrol pumps in the state will be closed for a day from the midnight of April 17 as part of a nation-wide protest by petroleum traders. The strike call has been given by the All-India Petroleum Traders.
